Movie Review!!!

I only have a few minutes, but before I run off to take my son to karate at Diversity martial Arts I wanted to start a new post. And I think because I love to write so much, I have come up with an idea to write movie reviews. The only disclosure is that these are of the opinions of myself and only me.  It is not affliated with the opinions or thoughts of the owners or employees of the Historic Cedar Theatre.

I grew up watching the movie critics. They gave thumbs up and thumbs down and their interaction with each other was daunting.  I loved that they stuck to their opinions but were gracious enough to be respectful of each others opinions.

The Historic Cedar Theatre has a new movie this week.  The new movie is Expendenbles 2. It is rate R and many of you will instantly think..."Oh my gosh, a RATED R-how could they do this-I thought this was a family theatre." So many may not attend because of this and this is why I have decided to start adding my opinion and write my own movie review.

I have seen 2 rated R movies in the last 15 years. And Expendebles 2 was one of them. This movie featured Arnold, Sly, the Transporter Hottie, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, and the man from the Old Spice commercials.

I give this movie 2 Thumbs up...It had every element of surprise- Laughter, Tears, Intensity, Action, Fear.. Granted it was rated R for violence. It showed blood, guts, stabbings etc. But the story line and the love and loyalty these characters had for each other was phenomenal. And unlike Total Recal which was rated PG-13, Expendebles had ZERO sex scenes, no kissing, and no "F" word. I was so surprised because we know Bruce Willis who is the Die Hard celebrity who lives for the "F" word in that movie.  But honest to goodness-not ONE!! I would recommend this movie to anyone...

So go to the Historic Cedar Theatre and experience an action packed movie..

If you want something less violent and fun then go see Ice Age 4-You can never get tired of the squirrel chasing the nut. And Saints & Soldiers is playing as well.

My final Review

I am so overwhelmed with emotion and gratitude with all of the support of the facebook page and the blog.  It has all been a work and progress, from the time we talked about purchasing the Theatre to the actual idea that there will be a Grand Opening.  Everyone has been kind in their comments but yet not afraid to share their opinion.

Since the blog was a process of my collective thoughts and a way to get the message in a different way to the community (little more personal), I have decided to step a side and let this ship sail.  I have done everything I can at this point to help..Don't get me wrong-of course I'll be involved but I really won't be blogging about it anymore.  We have a new Executive Director-Rachel Bishop (adjunct teacher at SUU) who has great ideas, twitter set up and is highly involved with facebook and the website is awesome. It has taken a lot of the pressure off of me and I can go back to what I love to and that is my business at Raindance Cleaners and being a mom.

This is the beauty that the boys have set up-they are capable of putting the right people in the right place to handle the needs of the Theatre. And I know they have hired a crew that is very responsible, fun, kind and a very pleasing group.

So thank you for following me on this blog-I would get so excited to see how many people actually read it and clicked on it. I loved every minute of it.

I hope you will enjoy the Theatre as much as I will, and I hope you will continue to support Main Street and really enjoy the blessed community that we live in..This Theatre has really created a sense of belonging for me-I don't think I'll ever fit into the "good ole boy" club, but I do feel in my heart I belong to Cedar City, Utah.

PS-But if you ever need anything don't hesitate to let me know :)

Much Love and Thanks to all!!

SOOOO Close!!

Hi!!! I am sure that everyone is still on pins and needles on whether this Theatre is going to make it to the opening day.  It certainly hasn't gone without it's challenges but anything worth doing has to be a challenge.  I hope you have all been following the Facebook page. There are some great-updated photos and Christopher, Kolob Web Design, has done a fanastic job in doing what he needs to do to make it a very user-friendly sight.

The boys have been tirelessly working all businesses in their life, including personal. And I am so amazed at how well it has been balanced.  The kids get little opportunities to work with their Dad's and that makes the mom's happy because we get a little break..SHHH! Don't tell the boys :) They think we are at home cooking and cleaning. Hahah!!

But the reality is that the Theatre is Coming To a City near YOU!!-We have hired a Movie Broker to get our movies-Sony has approved us and we are waiting on a few others but this means once the INSPECTION is DONE-Hopefully today--then we can move faster on the finish work.

Everyone facebooks this question.....????? WHAT MOVIES ARE YOU GOING TO BE PLAYING? I hope I can answer this once and for all--WHO KNOWS??? haha!! We are going to be showing anything from Classics, Western's, Artsy, second run movies. We are going to show what you, the community show an interest in and what we think would be in our best interest.

I want to thank YORK Cabinetry for using his skill of patience.  All the contractors have been very respectful, and completely fun to work with..but of course with the personality of the brother's you can't help but be in a crazy situation.

Oh!!! I almost did NOT forget Greg-he is our sound guy and he parked behind Shear D'Lite (thank you Teresa) with a motorhome- It was classic-totally something the boys would do.. I loved it. I'm just sorry I didn't a picture of it.  Greg has done a great job in setting up the sound-That Theatre will ROCK!! Literally.. ;)

There is more to share but to little time. Have a great night!!

Progression and Patience

This is the moment we have all been waiting for....the progression of the movie theatre. I am so excited for this as many of you are and I definitely know "the boys" are ready to get this show on the road-Literally, haha!!!  Bonnie Char, she has done and incredible job taking the interior to a whole new era.  The Historic Theatre has a slogan, "Historic Experience, with today's entertainment" will resignate throughout the building.

I want to give a special THANK YOU!! to Bonnie for being so patient with us. The boys have really had to let this be her job.  I think it funny when the boys try to be decoratively creatvie. :)  I am not saying men can't do it, but Bonnie has really had the patience and vision to take this Theatre to the next level.. You go GIRL!!!

Sheetrock is done, tape and texture is set and cabinets have been ordered. I will do my best to get you all pictures this weekend of the progression...In the meantime, this whole process, through the thick and the thin has been a learning experience and I can only hope we live up to the communities expectation and high hopes of bringing something fantastic to the community--

I need to put a SHOUT OUT----to Dr. Kevin Stein..He is in China doing some teaching and I hope he is following us across the world-Dr. Stein, you just might make it home in time for the Grand Opening...:)

Thanks again and we will chat soon.

Loyal Followers!!

Lori
Marketing
To all my friends and families!!

I wanted to take time to get "personal" again. I want to first say thank you for all your support, it has really meant a lot to me. I have really enjoyed interracting with you and getting to know you.  But as many of you know I where many hats..I am a MOM, WIFE, Business Owner (Raindance Cleaners, Car wash), Full-time Student at SUU, friend, etc.... So I am relinquishing my passion of this Theatre to the newest Employee of Cedar Theatre..Lori has a great resume and has the vision the theatre needs to meet the needs of the Cedar City Community.

The theatre has a new facebook page she has created and if you could go on facebook and like her page it will really give her the support she needs to move forward with this great adventure.

"HISTORIC CEDAR THEARE" is the official name of the Theatre. Right now as I type the sheetrock is being hung. Bonnie Char has picked out great colors and is picking out the lighting and getting everything ready to go. It is prospected date to open is in 6 weeks--WOW!! That will go so quickly.

Be assured that those of you who have "liked" MY facebook page will have the invites for the Facebook "soft" grand opening.  Lori is well aware of your love and support to this Theatre. Infact, I am creating the address book now and getting ready to have the "boys" design the postcards to be sent out to all of our Facebook supporters.  We will also have a community grand opening and open house.

And I want to remind you that the Historic Theatre will give you a "Historic Experience, with Today's Entertainment".

PS: The blog I will keep so I hope to keep the blog filled with my thougths, ideas and pictures of the great events..

Thanks again,
Sadie Pulsipher

SHEETROCK!!!

I have been so excited to write this portion of the blog this morning!!! I was talking to Kyle and I was asking him how the Theatre was coming.  I was sure I was going to get a "sigh" response and receive some sort of discouragement--but it was the OPPOSITE!! So much so that I can't wait...I am sure, like most of you are so EXCITED!!  Sheetrock, as I write is being delivered into the theatre. Painting, Tile, etc will be done next week.  I am telling you, once we got past some headaches these "boys" know how to work. Kyle told me last night that him and Kolby were strapping on their belts today and going to work...

Oh the ideas, the thoughts, the passion and adrenaline that runs through my head at night. I hope the vision surpasses everything you faithfull supporters have been hoping for..

Thank you again..
