Happy New Year's Eve- The Lighting Ceremony

All day I have been so excited for this Lighting of the Cear City Theatre. I know it seems trite to some but I really love this whole project. I am so glad "the boys" are venturous, energetic and hard workers. I think it was time for a REAl project. "The Boys" have a track record of taking distressed properties and making them income producing and hopefully this will be one to add to their resume.

Tonight at 5pm we had family and friends show up and they all mingled  throughout the Theatre and it was very exciting to share this rare opportunity with them. We met with a gal from the newspaper who used to work at the Theatre.  Mr Thorley actually built the Theatre and we were privileged to have his Great-Grandson come to show us before pictures. The following is a list of all the people that were there to show their support-We Thank YOU!

Happy, Happy New Year
Cedar City Theatre wishes you all the very best New Year and 2012. May all your resolutions be fulfilled and may all your dreams come true. My belief is the only way this can happen is if you first believe in yourself and then believe in the one you love.

The BEFORE!!!

Happy New Year to all our friends and family that came out to support the lighting ceremony. We apologize that the Neon didn't come on quick enough. (Little embarrassing haha) but eventually the CEDAR on the South side lite up. Hopefully you will drive down mainstreet and check it out.

Coming to a City Near YOU!

It's official. This Saturday night we will be lighting it up. I am going out today to pass out flyer/invitations to the businesses on main street and invite them to this spectacle. It really isn't that big a deal but it is a marketing strategy. We have to get the community involved to have support.  So wish me luck!!

December 26, 2011

WOW! It finally happened. After months of negotiations, due diligence and patience "the boys" were able to close on the Theatre. It isn't a fancy name, infact, we tried to be creative with it but it kept coming back to us-Cedar City Theatre.  We didn't want it to be Movie or Cinema because it would then limit us to what people think we can do with the Theatre.

Cedar Neon "Marion" has been tirelessly working on getting the lights ready for us this weekend. He has diligently trimmed trees (ha) and I think he is excited to see this marquis light up. We have had some really great feedback from community members and the biggest question is "Will it be a 1$ theatre?" Well, it won't actually be 1$ but it will be half of what the others are offering but it will be with a family flare.

Personally speaking, I am really excited. My son Willie is one of the reasons Kyle and I work so hard. And I know it is the same for Kolby and his wife, Cassey. The work ethic these  "boys" have is a little different than most. The work always includes the family and for that I am always grateful. Our kids always have a place to learn to work hard.

The lighting ceremony will be December 31, 2011. Soon I will be posting BEFORE pictures of the Theatre as it is now and in the weeks ahead there will be the progression pictures.  So before I sign off-I just want to say THANK YOU!! THANK YOU to those who have always supported our families and have always been loyal. And a most important THANK YOU to our children for enduring long nights away from Dads and also long nights working right along side of us. WE love YOU all dearly.

September

It is September and the boys are moving forward with the Theatre. We have had such terrific feedback and feel very grateful for the encouragement.

We have hired an interior decorater, BONNIE CHAR, and she is doing a fabulous job. I can't wait to see the finished product.

Ideas are flowing as to what movies to play such as, westerns, edited movies, family movies, UFC fights, Ball games etc.

We are so excited for everything to fall into place.

Welcome to POLITICS!!

Hi Everyone,

The boys met with some of the counsel here in Cedar City and seriously I can see why Politics is so corrupt and really encompasses people who think they are entitled and have a need a desire to think that everyone needs them.  The BULLSH! that was passed around their round table was enough to make me sick and even act out-my husband (Kyle) was quick to remind me to remember to BE SEEN and NOT HEARD!! Which I am very on board with because it causes me to be more objective and more open minded if I simply sit back and listen.

The project is underway-The boys have hired Bonnie Char who is over the Public Relations of Tourism for Cedar City and she is a very nice, well dressed, well-spoken and very excited lady. She has some great ideas to make this a place not only for the pocket book but for Tourism in general for Cedar City.

Part of the Politics is Environmental.  There is a TREE in our signs way and typically this wouldn't be an issue because we love trees but it is damaging our sign.  The City counsel people already made it known that it is going to be a very touchy subject to talk about the tree.  I was told Cedar City paid over $250,000 to have those trees put in and it would take $500,000 to maintain them and they have not maintained them the way they promised they would. But as the Boys say-You have to play the game and let them believe they have ownership in this Theatre.  The Politicians want to see the old theatre restored and by the end of the Meeting I liked Kolby's idea the best-GUN RANGE!! I think that would be a great money maker for all the tourists that come in town. Pictures are to come-My husband downloaded them onto another computer so I need to stop being lazy and put some of these old yet unique photos on the blog--the transformation is going to be priceless-I am tired just thinking about the work the boys have ahead of them and the responsibilities the wives have in just simply supporting them.

August 18, 2011

Hi everyone,

The Theatre is underway.  The "boys" have spent much of their time meeting with Engineers, Architects, Designers, Roofers, Electricians, Signage, Lenders, Investors etc.  We have received a lot of feed back that has been positive in restoring this theatre to a lower priced theatre.  We have hired an Interior Decorator named Bonnie Char who is coming up with some really creative ways to add more than just a theatre to this fun place on Main Street.  The goal is to be cost effective but the bottom line is always to be profitable.  I think this project will be one the whole town can be proud of and I am so excited to be apart of something that can bring a lot of good back to the community.

Cedar City Cinema

This is the Beginning of a New Era!!  I will refer to my husband and his brother in the upcoming posts as "The Boys".  Kyle Pulsipher and Kolby Pulsipher bought a few businesses in the last two years while being here in Cedar City and their latest adventure is no different.  But it is one I am extremely excited about so I decided to create a blog about it.  The Boys bought the "old" movie theatre in town.

Many of the locals have had great ideas and really have wanted to bring this great building back to life and so The Boys are going to do just that..they will bring back the Theatre.  But better yet it will be at half-the cost of the Weststates theatre.

The prices at the newer theatres have gone up so much over the last few years. This seems a little crazy to me since the economy has killed off so many jobs and people are on welfare more than ever. Nonetheless people are still flocking to the theatre-so our families felt there was a market in this town and there are so many creative juices flowing through my mind right now. And that will be ---to be continued......
